I need some help with this problem, ever since I rewired the plug for the coupe dash cluster, my 1200 has been running like s......t, its progressivly got worse, today it was undrivable, 5m down the road was a massive struggle. I put a new (second hand distributor cap on) and no diff but when I disconected the rev counter (from the possitive side of the coil)it ran fine....can anyone help out here?....Jas

pretty new to this but I have read that the tacho should go to the neg side of the coil? have you tired this?

Really, I wired it from some info I got off 1200.com......will try that tommorrow,....just checking but why do you say the negitive side?

I read it on 1200.com also?

Hopefully someone thats actually done the swap can help out as to what side of the coil it goes to.

Yes, all tachos should be wired from the negative side

I used this when I put the coupe dash in my 1200.

Negitive was a no go, somethings not right, i,ve now got smoke coming out of the distributor and it wont start at all....

Blair, I also used that wiring chart but most of the colours were different...I had do change most of the wires, all of the dash works but its not wired like that.

Hi Blair, what was it you wanted a picture of.....I have it all writen down as to how it wired.

Can you post a pic of what wires you put into the round plug? I have 2 wires that are different also an extra black wire and a yellow/black not yellow/blue and no red/yellow?
