Re: Kitch's 120Y

had an hour under the car last night.

I swapped out the rear gearbox seal, adjusted handbrake,
connected up drive shaft, put about 200ml of fluid in and
no leaks so far :D although I jacked gearbox up to level
to design x-member adaptors, so may not show any leaks
till I fill it right up tonight.

Also noticed one of the rear windows has detatched itself
from the adjustment mechanism, but to be fair I have not
gone over the car thoroughly as yet to inspect all it's
little quirks....

Made some X-member adaptor plates at work yesterday as was a quiet day at the office :D
hopefully will do the trick, and coupled with some rusty bolts, some dust and grease, won't catch the WOF inspectors eye ;)
ex: 50x6 MS bar, happy with how they came up, not bad for an office worker, although think I burnt some holes in my dress pants standing too close to the belt linisher

Also picked up my SSS influenced stripes from my sign writing mate.
you purists will say thats wrong to put these on a non SSS, or in fact that the stripes are probably poorly scaled.... but I had to remove the horrid big bump strip moulding that went down full length of the car. The car has been resprayed at some point, and bump strips had been masked off, so paint either mismatched underneath, or is pitted, or paint came off with the strip when I ripped it off.... the theory is that the intentionally wide central stripe will hide all the sins quite nicely

Brackets for gearbox worked out mint.
car back on the ground finally.
Filled box with oil and appears to not be any major leaks (touch wood....)
I rolled car into garage after work, and decided to give the old girl a quick polish,
and I also tried doing a bit of sign writing..... results below.
and yes I know it needs more "LOW"!!!!

Lies, not the same car :) Well done Kitch, looking great, all the best with the gear oil, looking good for Akaroa. No showing off to the boys the night before this year.
Now everyone will want a 210

Its a hard job trying to make a 210 look cool (especially on a budget)!!!

Photos dont show all the bumps and scrapes, and the few wee rust bubbles, but is solid enough, and clean and dry car.

Got a few wee things to do before WOF next week (?), but I have certainly broken the back of it. can't wait to dump it down on those wheels, think it will look quite cool 8-)

Want to get all finished a few weeks before hand so I can get some km on it to sort out any wee issues, before I mission it up to Akaroa.
