Some questions from a newby

Hey all
I've owned my 120y coupe for a few months now, and will soon be looking to make a few changes, after she's had a bit of panel and paint which is needed after being rear ended by a hilux
. Anyway, I'll soon be looking at slightly larger rims and lower profile tyres, lowering the ride height, fitting a webber carb or something and doing a free flow exhaust. Advice would be greatly appreciated concerning this stuff; where to pick it up, costs etc. I'm in slightly unfamiliar territory with modification, and i'm no mechanic haha.
Cheers!

hello and welcome, there are plenty of people on here who have the neccesary skills to carry out all the work you have mentioned, or if you are planning on doing it yourself with a little supervision, then I would suggest making it along to some of the events, and making yourself known, you will soon be amongst many like minded people who are all too willing to lend advise and a hand.
check out the thread for the Akaroa cruise this sunday, and take note of the Ruapuna event on friday night (free to watch welcome to join) sundays Akaroa event is a must do, and be sure to start a thread in members rides for your car.

It would be awesome to head along to Akaroa, I have finals that week but they can wait haha. I've watched some of those videos of previous cruises to Akaroa and can't help but feel my ride isn't quite as flash as most of those I saw
But i'll do my best to come along
Thanks for the help

its not about wether your car may not be flash enough or not. we all love datsuns and you will realise that very quickly when you come. this is our biggest cruise of the year, and you will love it.
if you feel a bit shy, pop out to ruapuna on friday afternoon to the track day and introduce yourself. that way you can meet a few of us in a smaller group setting to ease your nerves. then we can also talk you into coming to akaroa on sunday
