VG injector issues

Hi people,

While driving my C32 with the VG20ET I noticed it started running very roughly, with a strong smell of fuel. Upon closer inspection the intake manifold was wet with petrol. Knowing that injector seals are a common problem, and wanting to avoid a fire I pulled out all the injectors and seals. The seals themselves didn't seem bad (they were still quite soft and rubbery feeling) but the pintle caps of the injectors where they go through the seals looked quite black. But having had a bit of a nose around the interwebs it seems that the injectors themselves seem to leak too. Is there any way to fix the injectors if they are leaking? And if not, are there any newer cars that run the same injectors? I know VG30 guys can use RB injectors, but I don't want to do that if I end up with different CC ratings. Anywhere (other than Nissan) where I can buy them?

Thanks in advance guys.

Does it have barb style injectors? Sometimes the hoses can leak and sometimes the injectors themselves leak from the bodies.

Yeah it does have the barb type top feed injectors, the hoses seemed dry but the bodies did seem a bit damp.. I am going to replace all the hose anyway as I can buy it for bugger all and I don't even need a metre of it. Do you know if it's possible to pull them apart and repair them if the bodies are leaking?

Nah I'm pretty sure they are throw aways if leaking from the bodies. The only Skyline injectors that would go straight in would be red top ones as far as I know or possibly L20et ones might be the same size?

according to Z club.org.nz VG20ET injectors are 185cc min

VG30ET's are 259cc min

you could still use them if you lowered your base fuel pressure by the percentage difference.

Or perhaps Datsunboy could socket your ecu and burn you a chip to suit the vg30et injectors that Adam has.

Out of interest John, if my 2 sets of 30ET injectors i struggled to make up a set that didn't leak, in saying that i had a RB GTR injector go bad and leak on me also.

Thanks for all your help guys, I'm going to get the injectors I have tested, if any show up bad then I might try the ones off my parts car, if they're bad also then I might hit you up for those L20ET ones Adam.
