Hi all,Haven't done alot with the Datsun lately as I've been working on the RS4 still. But i did change out the auto for a 5 speed Manuel this weekend in hopes it will cut down the revs at 100kph as i will be taking it down to Invercargill in the long weekend coming up

So i got a few days off work,So i test fitted my dellorto carbs on the new L28 engine i got.As you can see the Redline manifold doesn't line up with the factory fuel injection manifold stud patten which means I'll have to use my L26 head and block......hmm what to do?.....Keep it an L26 or stroke it out to a 3 liter (L30) what do you guys think?

Must be an early motor if the head isn't drilled for both patterns, I'd find another N42 head and use that.

A stroked out l26 would be sweet! The head on that engine I'm fairly sure has been rebuilt too. I don't know to what extent, thats just what i was told by the fella i brought it off. But either way it should be better than some random old l28.

Any tips for the manual conversion? I've got a 5 speed 240Z gearbox for mine.... assume the driveshaft splines will be the same? Otherwise it all looks pretty straightforward.

What do you reckon the open road revs have dropped to?
