Some pics from last year, the cars first run out of town, to Wainui.
The guy I bought the car off had owned it for 20yrs, Had really loved it but with the arrival of children found he wasn't using it and it was getting neglected so decided to sell it before it deteriorated.
After the tidy up and subsequent repairs from the earth quake my goal was to debut the car at the Rakaia cruise 2 years ago. The plan was to attend a funeral in Invercargill and return to Christchurch Via the Rakaia Cruise, a great way to run an engine in. Unfortunately time was against me and by the time I had a Wof, I didn't have enough time to tune and road test to be happy to drive it such a distance. The 2nd hand SU carbs were hard to get in tune and I wasn't happy to venture all the way South on a new engine that wasn't 100%.
Enter Sept. 22nd 2011, I was home from Rakaia having attended in my trusty 1200. I had not bothered to register or insure the 240 before I went and now, after the big shake, no insurance company wanted anything to do with my Zed, so she sat for another 6 months.
Finally her Debut arrived, the Fundraising BBQ at SuperCheap. Easter 2012. I had only just parked up and was setting up a table when I was greeted by a young bogan saying "sorry Sir the wind caught my Sunny door and I have just put a huge Gark in your guard", I though he was pulling my chain

, not the best first outing, but not the last for the Zed.
There are a few Photos on here of it cruising to Kaikoura and back via the inland route. An awesome day out and roads the Zed loved.

These things must have been unbelievable back in the day.
Here are a few pics taken just before the Nostelgic Japanese Car cruise.
