i live up the end of a shared driveway.. i have 2 houses infront of me.
the very front house at rd end parks one car up their next to their house an their other one on the rd.
so as your comming up my driveway theirs a big gap to the left so the front house can get to their house/car park an then theirs a space for anougher car which i say is the turning bay but the house infront of me parks their car their. an then they park their other car in the carport infornt of my gate the car in the carport is alright even tho hes putting more an more sht in their an his cars slowly creeping out more.. but the problem is they park their 2nd car in turning bay. legally i thought you are ment to drive foward out your driveway even that is bad because theirs a high fence an cant see whats coming till ya nose is out their so driving out in reverse is worse. but the problem ontop of that is the mum comes over sometimes ..quite often an trys to squeeze her car in behind the car in the turning bay so can only just get past when wanting to go up the drive. but tonight shes parked right infront of my gate blocking the driveway i managed to get thru an have enough room to open my door against the fence to get out an open my gate. then she came out said rara sorry an moved her car more up behind the car in the carport an fully blocking the walk thru gate of my gate.
so either way ya wouldnt be able to get a 2nd car up in my property. i think they have learnt my flatm8 comes an goes so he wasnt comming home again tonight but thats not the point. i think she should park on the rd. like my mrz does instead of making obstacles. what can i do?

I think 1 car per house - the other needs the shit outa the carport to use it properly - put up a pic of ur drive setup etc sometime.

yea id think so.. an yip will do, im the landlord but dont know if the ones infornt of us rent im sure they do an knew the people before them they were told by their landlord that they can park their car in the car port an also in the part thats a turning bay. so think thats what these people are doing but they have the cheeck to try throw a 3rd car up the driveway. thats what really gets to me

the hardest, although sometimes the most effective way is to talk to them directly, this is always hard because no-one wants to be the winger, yet if you don't politely express that their parking is causing you an issue, then they probably think you are excepting of the situation. give them a chance be polite, and then if they give you shit or keep doing it, borrow or buy the widest piece of crap car you can and bash your way in and out. always best to play nice first and after that

Go and confront them is what i would do and try sort a plan that works for both of you as you have to live next to them and if all else fails just have a good old fassioned roll around on the road haha

am i the only one thinking urinate on door handles? either way there is a small amount of satisfaction in the morning, esp if its frosty .......

joking aside i had the same issue so i went and talked to the front flats creating the issue, all were more than happy to change parking situation as they were/had only started doing it as they didnt think it was a problem coz i hadnt said anything.
just talk to them first, ..... and then if it continues....

maybe the next morning the car is suspiciously held up by the wheels under the sills. with a ransom note saying "u have been warned, next time maybe there wont be any wheels left to hold it off the ground"..... plan with a frosty morning in advance.

Easy tiger, don't start a war, mum apologised, she knew she was pushing it. If you go over quoting rights you may draw battle lines, Paying a visit and asking what 'reasonable is' might get you further, these shared drive ways take some good will, and you sound like you have extended plenty, well done, hopefully this will help when you negotiate what reasonable is. Just remember you are the back house and Need their good will more than they need yours, they can make it much more difficult for you yet. Show up to negotiations with beers, not a Lawyer, people like beers more.
Also beware of parking on the street, I once had a front house owner complain to council because my visitors were parking in front of their house and visitors weren't calling because they assumed he had guests

Polite diplomacy can gain great results, and still leaves the door open to other approaches.
I think council can tell you who pays the rates and if they are at the same address. (ie is if rented) They used to be able to.

Shared driveways are tricky as some have each house owning equal shares, when it works well it is great.

Alternatively, you could start siphoning petrol from them as a sort of "parking tax" until they get the hint. Or do all those diplomatic ways everyone else suggested. To each their own

haha thats some good ideas.. yea iv never really got along with them well never really talked to them said hi now an then but thats bout it. an i used to have flatmates that their friends would come over so the naighbours would block them in behind them but that was their problem i tryed to stay out of that one.. but yea now their just taking the piss i think its cheecky of them an should know better. ill wait for them to do it again an then say something to them an will go from their..the plans i got for my house are old an call that house a future flat an doesnt clearly say where the boundrys are to much but can get a idea..an also iv been home with workmates before an pointed everything out to them an they agree that in the middel of the driveway is a turning bay...i hope they move out sometime soon!
