Hi all , I bought the 1600 off trade me , that was paint stripped and de-reg, just fishing for
plates and papers
or L16 motor / swap for L20
if I can get some plates and papers, then ill keep the L20 otherwise ill need a L16 to get it through compliance without modification cert, happy to go with either option, although plates would be easyer.
also will need rear window and possibly front guards.

more of an investment, was thinking along the lines of getting it back on the road and then selling it on for some pocket money. but if things keep going the way they are workwise, then I may yet keep it for myself, too soon to tell really.

They can't test it, so if they think it's different from standard, they just say, go get cert. Regardless of the limit.

From memory the L series have L16, L18, L20 etc cast into the block?
If so, you could massage it off with a grinder and paint block all pretty.
