Thanks to Scotty I got some new shifter bushes.
The existing pivot bushes were virtually non existant!
not that hard to work out the old ones from the new ones!

So a young guy down here (Greg) texted me up last thursday as wanted to get rid of his 310 sunny, as had crapped out & he couldnt be bothered with it...end result is I now own another Datsun.... kind of pissed my wife off, as wasn't the wedding anniversary present she expected

I had just sold my boat, so had some money sitting in the Datsun account, so why not ....

Few issues to sort, and its pretty bogon looking with the old spray bomb black paint job & mighty turbs....

Overheated / blown head gasket / warped head, and alternator not charging, bit scruffy inside etc.

Other than a bit of rust on corners of 2 of the doors, top corner of rear roof & one wheel arch it is real solid, in fact it has less rust than the red one for sure.

Has cobra springs, which are not that low, but better than stock.

Good news it that motor is an A14

Got Shane @ revolution automotive to tank the H89 head, compression test the valve seats,
inspect & machine the surface to suit. did it within 24 hrs too - sweet ;)

Went and saw my mate @ BNT & brought up on the necessary consumables & ready for an effort tonight

3 hours later had it all back together and running, got a leaky exhaust manifold to deal to and a leaky water house from inlet manifold. Took it for a blat up the road, and it goes real good!!! :burnout: but not idling that good, and battery near dead.

Going to flush out radiator and repair the exhaust / water hose leak. will then look to tune it a bit better, hook up choke & find an air filter assembly in my spares to fit up as seems to be missing.

Put battery on charge, so I can sort out whats wrong with charge system too.

Scotty has been a good bugger & sent me down some new shifter bushs, as they are completely poked, will install them at weekend along with my spare SGX steering, and clean up interior a bit.

Hope to have it in for a WOF in a week or two.

I had a spare SGX grill from the red one, I had previously sold to owner of this car....

Also have SGX steering wheel spare I will throw on.

Swapped out shifter bushes this morning. there were NO bushes in it. there was so much play in shifter it was not funny, you had no idea what gear you were in....

fixed water leak, fitted up battery, fitting up head unit this arvo too
