What's better than 1 510 project.....

Post by habitz »

Well I know I shouldn't have bought it but it seemed to make sense..... ???
well in my mind it made sense,,,,

Just bought this '71 race car! Has a mountain of parts with it so justified its purchase as it'll supply a lot of the parts for the '72!!

Spare suspension, LSD, bumpers etc etc etc. even a Reg cook rally engine!

Looks like a good score, but you are going to need a dump truck to collect all that mountain of spares!

looks like a sweet well sorted club car, congrats on the purchase

Yes an addict for sure! a bad habit! :D
joy of the Road trip too!
Hopefully will all go well.
Rent a hiace van, turbo diesel, load up all the bits and tow the car with the A frame. Apparently has done many miles that way.
Down to Wellington on Saturday and drive home Sunday.

It's setup as a track car and yep she's all go. Rego on hold. Not sure when it was last raced.

A few specs:
1971 Datsun 1600, Modified L18 a87 engine, 4speed with higher Reg cook 2nd gear, lsd, Webers, Rollcage, adjustable suspension, Motorsport NZ log book.

Think it's got a 280zx setup. Stock rear brakes.

Heading down to porirua on Friday after work through ohakune then back up Saturday. 1200ks round trip! Crossed fingers no dramas.

it got an orange bootlid so will probably swap it over.

Will assess it all when she's home. Will be quite a few things for sale from the parts stash it has so i'll post it up in a few days.
