EOI - South Canterbury Summer Sunday Cruise

Trying to get my $hit together and organize a casual local cruise…. Been thinking about it / talking bout it for ages…..
Have talked to a couple of locals that could be keen, but thought I would post up here, and see if anyone from Oamaru, Ashburton or even Chch etc may be keen to join in.
Was thinking a casual Sunday family friendly cruise might be the go, probably mid-late January. I know a few locals like Peggy, Kev & Simon will no doubt need some notice to get their cars WOF’d!
Was thinking mid-late January, as I know Rakaia cruise is fast approaching in mid February. However if this doesn’t pan out, may be mid-march as it can be a bit of a pre cruise to the great southern cruise.
My idea was to perhaps head up Pareora Gorge through to Cave, then through to Fairlie and may be grab lunch from the awesome Fairlie Bakehouse, cruise out to lake Opuha for lunch & stretch the legs, then cruise back through Geraldine-fairlie highway to Geraldine, then east out towards Rangitata, and park up @ chequered flag for a couple of ales in the arvo – then back to Timaru. Round trip approximately 200km
Any comments / feedback appreciated
