Donor cars (later model) for 1969 Datsun 1600.

Hi guys, I am really keen to get my 1969 Datsun 1600 on the road. I apologise if some of these questions have been asked before - I have searched the articles & not quite find what i am looking for. As my 1600 lives over 2 hours away I get limited time to work on it. I am wondering if there there is a later model Nissan that will suit most of my needs as a Donor car in terms of bolt off bolt on. The components I am looking to upgrade are Brakes, Suspension, Engine & gearbox (as well as anything else needed as a result) I know the U13 Bluebird is sometimes used, the suspension etc seems reasonably priced so I guess an easier question is what can I not use from a U13 (struts, brakes, hubs front & rear) in terms of engine upgrade I am strongly considering an SR20DE (NA) due to price. My question on engine is can I use an engine from a U13 or a primera & use a manual box from an s14 or s15? I am aware I will need to shorten the drive shaft. Any advice you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Don't know much apart the donor car as such, but you cannot bolt a RWD box onto a FWD SR20.
In saying that though, you can have a complete RWD SR20DE motor for around $500.

Thanks for that. Will keep an eye out for a RWD engine & box. They seem to be way more than $500 on TM. Can anyone tell me if the standard 1600 drive shaft is suitable? Thanks

Motor with manual conversion would be around $1200ish. I bought a complete S15 motor with loom and ecu, 5 speed box, clutch, pressure plate, driveshaft and starter for $1150 about 2 years ago.
