Cool Post, Cool Idea,
But wonder, if any benefits are achieved over just using a RB26 tall block

Weird. I have heard rumours about people trying to put the RB head onto a RD28 block. I wonder if this guy trying to make an engine that's legal for some race class where he needs an original L series block or something

There's a dude in Oz that has done it quite successfully from what I hear. He's converted the block to belt drive rather than the head to gear drive.

That seems like about a thousand times less work than what the Japanese guy did. I can't even imagine the kind of skill and patience it would take to do something like that.

An RB30 shortblock is so cheap, I can't think why anyone would go to that much trouble?

But wait, there's more!

How about an RB20E all done up to look like an LY head and fitted to an L series block?

Didn't some guy from Hybrid Z use 3x chopped up KA24DE heads and made his own super custom head for an L series DOHC conversion ?

Yeap, and he's had constant problems with it.
