Head Cam Bearings.

Post by torqued »

Hey,

Just some after some thoughts.
The cam bearings on my head aren;t too bad, but you run your nail across them and you can feel scoring.
These "bearings" cannot be replaced but should i be concerned?
About to spend some major money on the heads so wanna be 100%.

They are currently being checked at flemmings, but more opinions the better.

I've cleaned up a couple that had minor marking (including my current head) with just some fine scotch brite type stuff, the cam is pretty well supported in most heads, I think the chances of it picking up are pretty slim as long as you have a good oil supply.
