Hi

Wondering if anyone has done any 1200 ute diff swaps .... I'm looking for a strong LSD diff to replace my h165.... I know theirs the old shorten r31 diff which are getting hard to get hold of and the h190 aswell...... Is their any other nissan diffs that can be modified to suit the 1200 ute that are strong LSD and relatively easy to find ?

Hilux are heavy. Excort are a easy fit change stud pattern move diff back 20mm or shorten drive sharft and there are three different lengths . Yes I now a ford in a Datsun but there a so many cheap off the shelf race parts for them like disc brakes large axles lsd lots of ratios and they are cheap. If you want to have a look at one I am doing one now for a 1200 coupe race car.

yep escort is a good option for the reasons mentioned above but if you are after something stronger than H165 then escort diff might not be the best choice for you.
Unless you have a lot of power (be honest) or just want to do skids all the time the H165 or escort would probably do it. Stronger diffs are usually a lot heavier as gman said about the hilux diff.
