LSD GEAR OIL, what is the best?

Just changed the diff in my 1600 and am wanting to know peoples thoughts on the best oil to run in a r160 viscous LSD. I keep reading not to use a oil that had additives in it ie friction modifiers etc as it will increase the slipperiness of the oil which in my eyes would make the diff not hook up as much correct me if I'm wrong.
Any help would be great.
Cheers
Craig

The diff oil used has nil effect on a viscous LSD Craig.
The viscous cartridge is a sealed unit. It does it's thing independently of the oil in the diff unit.

So what your saying Bart is as long as it's wet and slippery it's all gonna do the same job.

Yeah pretty much.
But there will be a recommended grade of oil for that diff. I use either neat lucas/mooreys, and or redline in my diffs because they cop so much abuse.

I have had excellent results with Redline heavy gear oil. In Open and Clutch LSD applications.
And R160 wouldn't even take 2 Quart Bottles.

Your better off not running LSD oil in a VLSD for the reasons stated above. A quality GL5 80w90 is all you need.
