A friend of mine blew his Z16 up in his ute and is after a new motor or long block. If there are getting few and far between would a L16 or L18 have the same bell housing bolt pattern as the Z series and are the L series much taller overall than a Z
Thanks for your time and he would consider a engine from north or south island.
Cheers

Craig I understand the bolt pattern is the same but the L series is inclined so will not line straight up. The front half of the gearbox can be changed so all lines up at the right angles, but I have never had these sitting side by side or tried it myself.

I have an L16 and four speed.
I havent picked them up yet. And I never heard it run either.
But it came out of a 620 that was driving. So it should be a runner.

I always thought they were the same. the NA has more emissions shit on the carb etc.
Physically the same motor, but check with someone else as i could be wrong
Google images say the same!
