Bought this coupe a few months ago but guy I bought it of was a bit dodgy. told me it was WOF standard as it ran out a week before I got it.
Heres the List
Steering play. The car would drive down the road and just pull left big time. ( Fix now )
Left Guard loose ( easy fix
Exhaust leaks
Rust in floor pan. ( its ok for car of age easy fix)
Had 4x 2.5mm washers on each wheel studs on front wheels to space it out 10mm. Fuck me you can buy spacers that size for $30 on trade me.
Water leak from frost plug.
That the WOF
Next I look at WRX seats fitted on the piss as I call it, Look at the mounting of them how it passed a cert I don't know.
Overall he has used carpert to hide a lot of his dodgy shit he done and as I pull car apart. and he works at airforce in Auckland.
The last WOF the car had done 100 kms until I got it. So if you need a dodgy WOF go to Western Mechanical Repairs 95 Central Park Drive Henderson West City 09 833 3323 or on 021 1341991
Over all he told me it was sweet to drive 250 kms home. lucky I took a trailer. He wouldn't let me take it for a wof but as seen as it just ran out it would be ok.

Bit gutted to be honest but will get it on road soon an

Oh, that car, it looked good in the pics aye. Always someone elses opinion of mint, vs new buyer and finding all the stuff that is totally unacceptable. Western Mechanical can be hit or miss with easy wofs tbh.

Seen this the other day parked outside the panelbeaters on fraser st, nice car bet it hauls.
Washers are pretty dodgy tho does it have factory from struts?

Remind me been recommended to take my 1600 front doors there for a second opinion as i think the last guy didnt know what hes doing and has destroyed them. But dont know enough about it to say so.....

Yeh that was it. It's my mate that owns the panel shop. He is good at old cars and repairs. I've watched a 57 chev being repaired there over 1 year. The car was road legal and when It got blasted it need new floor inner guards out guards boot floor. Basically the front firewall is only original. He will do it for cash as well. Tell him I sent you there. He drives the rally car as well just a bit slower.

Started cleaning up all the hidden roughness today by cleaning all the rubber sound proofing off to find more dodgy shit.
As you can see by photo's. Check out the carpet hidden box around gear stick and yes you can see day light though it if I put a light behind it. Not to sure on coupes floor pan but looks very high compared to sedan's is this normal? Needs few bits of rust done so looking at new paint. Once panel and rust done looking at a rewire whole as there's a lot of wires going nowhere. Probably half the reason it has a miss up in rev range. Put a boost gauge in it as the one that came with car went to 15psi and found car was running 18-20 psi. Went well when it didn't miss. dropped back to 10 psi and still goes hard but just a bit more drivable for streets. Found a photo of a white coupe on net that looks mean so looking at making it look like that. Trying to get this all done in 6 months as well as rally car rebuild so it be a year.
