Anyone know Differences between an H145 and H165 1200 diff

Had a look at the driveshaft out of project_1200_ute (Nic) ute last night and the diff flange is smaller than mine so am guessing that someone may have put an H145 into his ute, this could explain why his shaft is to short (drive shaft that is).

I know I have seen the differences on the net before but now I want to know i can't find them.

that might explain some of the problems hes having, just measured a 165 and its roughly 220mm long and the 145 only about 180mm so its alot shorter...

If it's a long wheelbase ute, a standard 100 car tailshaft might to the job? The two piece ones would be the correct length for an H165.
I did see a picture at datsun 1200.com of a tailshaft spacer block to compensate for the shorter shaft.

I may be wrong but I think the one piece car ones are even shorter than the ute ones.

The front part of my shaft is longer than his so have lent it to him to try
