Does anyone know how to get the weather seal and plastic surround out of the roof of my Sunny? Glass is out but there's nothing in the Haynes book about this.

Might be genuine '80s but probably not genuine Datsun.
Are you wanting to remove the whole thing or just the glass and frame?

Really? Goddam someone went to a lot of effort to get that in then. Did Sunny's not come with sun roofs out of the factory at all? Well I need the frame out so it can get the car sandblasted but obviously I want to get it out without wrecking it. Glass is already out it wasn't too bad.

I have the original sale and import docs for the car and the first owner (for 22 years) was some 60 y/o lady in Ashvegas. Turns out she was quite the car modder as she got the Cheviot wheels, aftermarket cassette player and sunroof installed. All the installs are so shitty though. The sunroof has ended up rusting around on the outside and the new cassette player butchered the factory dash (had to buy a new one from Jesse). With that in mind does anyone know if I can go somewhere to get the rubber remade/glass replaced for the sunroof or if that sort of business is non existent these days?

read and twine, it depends on the shape of the rubber and the profile too there are a few places that do different rubber moulds etc it will be along the same lines as people that do after market windscrren rubbers so just search google and that for places etc
have you thought about not putting the sun roof back in???

Yea just did a quick google then looks like there a few places that still specialise in that sort of thing. Yeeeea but I mean it's already in and it was probably the thing that was in best condition on the whole car when I got it so I'm leaning more towards keeping it. It looks very period and semi factory (fooled me at least) so I think it would be a good point of difference.
