Oh, righto. That would be easy to fix if it is the case. Although surely the nozzle sleeve shouldn't have that massive groove in it?

Why does a higher float level cause fuel to come out of the nozzle assembly?
I would have thought that the nozzle assembly would need to be fuel-tight regardless of the float level...

The fuel level in the nozzle mirror's the fuel level in the bowl . The fuel level should be lower than the top of the nozzle. Make shore your float doesn't have any fuel in it they are notorious for getting holes and filling up with fuel.
