Hi everyone,

Iam trying to track down a 2 door 510 race car which is in south island somewhere.
been told it had an accident at some stage and i think that was it.
i dont have any info but wonder if anyone of you would know or heard about this car.
your help will be very much appreciated.

Are you talking about the BRE lookalike one that was imported a couple of years ago from the US?

If so it was owned by the boss of Cockram Motor group (Angus) last I heard.

That's not a BRE look alike that's a Paul Newman car.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same car here. When Brock used to work there he contacted BRE about the car and they said that although it wasn't one of theirs they did supply some bits for it. I imagine they would have said something about it if it was Paul Newman's.

If you want to buy it you could always ring Cockrams but you'd need some deep pockets.

Ok the 510 that Maddat it looking for is not for sale it is one of mine. The 510 of Angus Cockrans was not imported by Cockrans it was already here and the log books show a very cool history cant wait to get it back on the track again.

Yea Paul Newman had, by the looks of it, done a couple of races in the car (signed log books) it was a kind of customer car where they had brought stuff from the bre parts book. - is apparently still a bare shell atm and last i heard was be straightened out. It was deffinately a racecar all its life and at some point had had the whole boot section replaced.

The Guards are all fibreglass and Zeus clipped on lol

Someone down timaru ways races one too. I've seen a pic of three datsuns all racing in one photo at levels.
I think it's somewhere in my hotmail actually. (If it is, it'll take me a while to find it)
