his plans are to put the vg into his 720 but unsure of what gboxs will bolt up? any help would be awesome, i cant wait to watch another family member enter financial ruin due to datsuns

L series 5 speed will bolt up if you find a bellhousing off a VG box that's the same Nissan type (FS5W71C), but then you'll probably find a whole box easier. I don't think anything else shares the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the VG30s. There are BW T5 gearboxes too as well as the FS5R30A Z32TT boxes which are like what you find behind an RB25DET.

I have an auto bell housing if you want to hack it up luke

And i hear Daniel Adams is in the process of doing a cut and shut of a VG30DETT gearbox onto a CA18 bell housing so he might be your man if you want to go the complicated route.

But honestly though, its just not worth it for a 20et, a CA18 or something similar would probably make it a much better car to drive.

In saying that you could probally swipe a whole engine gearbox and 5psd in one go for $1000
