Front lower arms

Hey guys.
Got a question on modification of the front lower arms.
The bit at the end fowls on the disc, and I reckon I can just chop this section off after the last ball joint bolts as it's not really doing anything?
Thoughts?
I could just grind it back for clearance but would prefer to just chop it all if possible.

B110/210/310 arms don't have that ring on them.
But I would ask Cletus at old school if I were you.

Can you ask him? I'm not on there.
Factory 510 ones do have it, and these are a copy of them

What discs are you running - shorter hat discs may help

can't remember right now on the disc's, but I'd rather not change them, I went to a lot of effort to find these ones with the dimensions I wanted to keep the caliper as far in as possible so I don't have to run + offset FWD wheels haha (plus they are brand new).

I have seen this situation solved with a negative offset bump steer spacer
it adds a bit of track width but also moves the rotor away from the Control arm, no cutting and grinding and they are an off the shelf part for the Z31 struts you have.

if this design wont pass a cert its a good thing we know a guy who can help with his cnc

The cert guy on old school said it would be fine to cut the ring off the lower arms, so I'm gonna go ahead and do that.
Might still need to get some RCA's anyway though, as the bolts that hold the strut to the steering knuckle bit the ball joint limiting the amount it can turn.......not sure if its enough turn yet or not, doesn't look much less turn than factory.
But lets face it......going ultra low will require RCA's anyway haha!

I was having a similar problem with mine and mucked around for ages cutting back that ring but when I ended up putting the car on the ground there was heaps of clearance, must have just been the way things were sitting when it was jacked up. Is the radius rod clamping the ball joint down?

I would leave it,
And RCAs.
If you cut it, its just going to be another modification.
RCAs would solve the issue and prevent the need for cutting

RCAs won't fix it unless they are offset ones like james posted.
Yeah the radius rods are done up tight and clamping the ball joint well. I think putting it on the ground would only worsen the problem on this one
