Yea it is Kitch's old car. Probably the journalist changing the word upgrade to "full rebuild".

Didn't Greg Murphy just use Kitch's old 1200 shell? Was under the impression that he had a SSS with a bad body, and put all the parts/interior he had into rebuilding and the shell.

he didn't exactly say it needed a full rebuilt, said it wasn't quite as good a condition as it was supposed to be. a cars condition is a pretty subjective thing as he's obviously driven a few nice cars in his time so would probably have pretty high expectations

I both got a good look at Kitch's old 1200 and had a drive of it.
It was as good as you'll find.

I have also seen this thing in the flesh and I thought if my car turned out half as good as that after my full rebuild I'd be pretty stoked. I think you are right when you say it is probably just because the man pretty much gets a brand new car to drive every time he races and is just used to a really high standard. 13k doesn't seem bad at all either. My mate sold his rough running (but still tidy) 1200 coupe for just over 10k. I guess inflation over 30 years can make it seem a lot more when he had one for $2900.

Was the A12 in this turbo charged previously? I seem to remember it having an SU carb setup from a Jag?

Your thinking of my old 1200 that I did a draw through setup on and sold to Aaron (my1200) who rebuilt the whole car.
