P510 gas pedal-cable conversion????

When converting a 1600 to an engine which needs a cable, what have people done to make it work?
I think the neanderthols who began butchering my 510 have addded a cable throttle. (I haven't had a proper look yet) But I'd like a set up that is proven based on the rest of the work the previous owners did.

Nah, the 510's have a prehistoric linkage set up.

http://www.datsport.com/Datsun_510_1600 ... l_kit.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think this is a kit they do but wouldnt be too hard to duplicate.

The U13 cable is pretty good, very easy to find and you can adapt the pedal or modify the 510 one really easy little on the long side . The 910 or S11 Silvia is a really ideal length but little harder to find.

I just used an s13 one and welded a tag on the top of the accelerator pedal to fit the cable through. works well

I used a 910 pedal i think bolted it in and then drilled a hole to hold the cable in place against the fire wall so hole sheath didn't move.
The 910 pedal sits way to high but thats easy fixed by sitting in the seat and pushing down on it really hard till it bends and sits just right.
This will convert you to a top/fire wall mounted pedal rather than have that stupid plastic thing bolted to the floor.
