hey there, my 4x4 ute not well, tired rings and fouling plug. timing chain etc done 1 yr ago. Too many new parts to let her go yet! Quoted $4k to take out engine and rebuild . Do the members have any thoughts?

What motor? Who diagnosed it as tired rings?

Mechanic , keeps fouling 1 plug. got the hottest plug and still fouling. L18 motor. any suggestions?

A good 2nd Hand L18 or L20B would be the go i reckon - keep the original for spares

Try Cam, Southern Flier on Youtube, Not sure how to cotact him, but he is down you way and made a few Rally Motors etc.
