The 510 driveshafts are pretty spindley though.

Yea, I think I would rather up grade for piece of mind and further upgrading of power.

A drive shaft from an auto B310 would work with a little shortening. They use much larger tube than the 510's and they have replacable unijoints. Plus they use the same input yolk as an L series. (As far as I know, they are the same as the SR?)

like shane said, 1600 driveshaft yokes fit into sr gearboxs, i was looking at fitting a 1600 driveshaft, but decided against it a while ago.

I used a beasty drive shaft i found from somewhere may have been a hilux i think.
Then i uses a Auto cerfiro yoke (same spline as a 6 speed) Tony Whiter wanted my 6 speed drive shaft for some reason so we did a swap. Then i used a R31 or R30 or what ever it was that matches my diff on the other end got an engineer to weld it up for a cashy and works mint as. Mite get it balanced one day but he said hes never had to get one done (does alot for the rally guys) and ive spun it up pretty fast in 5th and it doesn't seem to vibrate so all good so far.
