Right.....I have updated the first post.
it would seem that the 330 was a model I had decided not to count, so that 1 must have slipped through. I have now added 330's to the list.

I found some more 1200 utes....but still not that many. this list is only for cars pre-1990.
none of the B110's are listed as being a ute under the body type.....and strangely enough, 2x of the B120's have body types of coupe, and are registered as a "Datsun Coupe", so probably aren't utes either.

I have edited the first post again to attach the base data (culled down from the original 72mb file that included all other makes e.t.c.), and also a list of sub-models for info.
A lot of things will be incorrect, as there is things like 240Z's listed body type of station wagon e.t.c.
But for the most part, it is useful interesting information.

Most likely 240"C" wagon instead of "Z"?

I would say the 240z part is right as its less likely to fuck up the chassis number than it would be to enter the wrong body type.

That is 100% a 260z 2+2 with 240z tail lights yuck.

That list just highlights how hopeless data entry was/is in NZ. No wonder car theft and plates/tagging cars is so common.

Purely looking at 510 / Datsun 1600 from 1969 of which there are 36, there are at least 25% with real stuff ups. Some have the same chassis number, 4 of them have purely "P510" for the chassis number, one is a L16 powered diesel ... how ridiculous

I agree there are numerous errors but I think for security reasons the chassis numbers are abreviated. My 1600 sss's are shown with abbreviated chassis numbers but the rego and or rego on hold papers are always correct.
