has anyone got a rough idea of what these are worth to buy, one on trade me at moment but I don't really know what they are worth

I'd say $300+. The high demand for these boxes has pushed the price up here. I know a number of people who have exported them to Australia. And have also heard numourous aussie's say that they've bought them off tardeme too.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Yeah I have bid to $300 but don't really want to pay much more, will see what happens when it closes tonight

i just brought one 4 $300 and it would of gone for more on tm. and it will probaly need pulled apart an checked anyway.

Are Dog leg boxes better than the standard 5 speed?

they run different syncos and i find the dog leg ones are way stronger and longer lasting, thats just my experience with them in rally and race cars.

Funny you should say that. I've been told that the H pattern ones are stronger.
But they are all pretty good really. I've done unholy things to them, and never broken one.

I have broken many a 4spd back in the day when I had a worked A14 in a sunny, put a 5 spd in then just popped a diff after that

I heard the dogleg box has bigger syncros or something making them stronger, I never broke a dogleg box ( but then I never break anything cause as bart says I drive like a nana)
