Im loathed to sell this rolling Nostalgic museum, but heres you chance to own a very unique, purpose built Brit-Rat Rod.
Its an English Import, So has factory bucket seats and 4-speed floor change manual 'box. Imported into Dunedin, spent some time in Wanaka, and the rest of the time in dry old Central as a Contractors A-Framer. I have the papers to confirm this.
Originally a 1200 pre-crossflow, some fine soul has put a Mk2 Cortina High Compression 1600 (with rare screw-type tappets, perfect for a wild cam)..
I towed it out of a dry central otago paddock 2 years ago and dry stored it for a further year. After that, It recieved:
A new Sill,
Mk2 Cortina Disc brakes on Modified struts to keep cut springs captive,
Nolathane bushes in all the key areas,
Capri Type 16 calipers with good Pads,
Underside completely undersealed with Rust-o-leum Road Warrior,
Skimmed Rotors,
Brand new Mk2 Control arms,
New Brake-line cross-pipe,
New wheel Cylinders (one fitted, one spare)
Added Escort Sport Extractors,
New Engine mount,
Regular services,
Wiring renewed in places,
Rust removed from a couple of doors and the floor,
New interior panels in customwood with period Newspaper coverings,
Beaded seatcover (R.I.P Granddad),
All gearbox seals and bearings replaced,
Brand new Drive shaft Yolk,
Just replaced the Diff-head with a Mk1 Escort unit, much nicer to drive and drinks less juice,
Lowered in the rear with 2in Blocks,
brand-new Tyres
Sagged leaves,
Steel Venetian Blinds,
Bullet-caps,
No seat belts in the back, pile your skinny lady friends in,
Old coins in front guard, many 2c throughout the car,
Chrome Half-covers and Alloy Peak Visors on Headlights,
Much more...
It was Certified for its modified Front Brakes, Suspension, Engine and Wheels.
Comes with a Set of factory Steel wheels (as on front) with full set of Chrome Hupcaps, The rest of the Set of 13x7 Widened Ag rims, FORD Weber manifold, Parts of tail-light lenses, Generator, Alternators, Fuse-box, Lights, many a treasure...
FOLDER FULL OF RECIPTS INCLUDED IN SALE, CHEAP REGISTRATION!
The only thing wrong with it is that if your not nice and direct pulling up, across and back to put into reverse gear, it can fall out of the gates,..I got used to it, but a wee nylon bush on the end of the shifter, available from Enford in CHCH will fix it.
This car gets so much attention its rediculous, i challenge you to go out and not get bailed up for a yarn. Some people will ask when your going to paint it, everyone else just goes 'FU*K YEAH!!, Where your time machine?' etc
It is VERY straight for its age and occupation, the Chrome trims are outstanding, although the chrome has worn off some doorhandles and the bumpers are a bit rat-spec. The interior is perfect for how its supposed to be, but the rooflining has 3 wee splits, seats are blown out, dash is cracked, door-cards are wobbly..like I said, perfect! Photos dont do it justice.
I drive it everywhere at any chance I get, it starts every time, everything works as it should, and will do for years to come. Been Dry Stored until 2 months ago, which was summer, so still dry..
Very regretful sale, but Ive got a Mk1 Escort that needs a cash injection..
