Re: A15 into 410/411 (E1/J series to A series swap)

I tried to take some pics last night while the engine was still in but they didn't come out clear at all so I will take some more once the engine is out. Regarding the gear box, I was hoping to use the existing gearbox cross member and just modify a mount for a 60a to fit, but it looks like I may ha...

A15 into 410/411 (E1/J series to A series swap)

Hi Guys, Just about to pull the E1 out of my 410 this weekend. The E1 series mounts similar to the J13 in the 410/411's in that it uses a front mount system a little similar to an old Mazda 12a. As such the cross member (which is part of the whole subframe) is quite far forward in the car, to the ex...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

Just realised that in the brakes section I put that I was using 240z brakes. In fact it is 280zx brakes and will try to get as close to the conversion described for the 510's in this article http://dimequarterly.tierranet.com/articles/tech_280ZX_brakes.html" onclick="window.open(this.href)...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

Oh, i actually know of one in Central otago here, May be good for parts.. Thanks for the info - I actually have a whole spare set of panels, glass and most of the interior. I figured a while ago that if I was going to do up a car that was difficult to get parts for, then I should get a whole set of...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

Great to finally see some pics of this wee beasty mate! you really have to admire the elegant beauty, and splendor that these truly oldschool datsun had in such great abundance. And I've never seen one driven by a flat peaker rolling on modgies! Thanks for all your help so far. I'll get some pics u...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

I cant decide which motor I would have in it..and thats saying something! Yeah, was a toughish choice on the engine. In the end I just decided on some prerequisites; had to look close to original (which ruled out DOHC engines), had to be datsun/nissan, had to have reasonable parts availability, and...

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

Hey Jay, Yeah, my little beasty. I have one of the A15 blocks on the engine stand stripped back right now - just cleaning it up, then ready to hone and put the bottom end back together. I will use the other block as a dummy initially to sort out the mounts. BTW - meant to ask you about that lumpy ca...

Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410

Hi Guys, Have been hanging around this forum and datsun.co.nz for a while now, and with some prompting, decided it's about time I started a build thread. I purchased this car about 3 1/2 years ago sight unseen whilst living in London, having decided I liked the 410/411 shape and there weren't too ma...
