140J engine and 4 speed gearbox. FREE!!!!!!

I have just collected a 140J engine and gearbox that I bought via TradeMe. The only bits I want are the rods. Does anyone want the rest of the engine and gearbox before I dump it? Looks like it is all there except the manifolds and apparently it was a good runner when the guy I bought it from acquired it.

Pick up only but I can store for a short period of time if necessary or could even deliver if somewhere between New Plymouth and Wellington.

Be quick if you are interested, I start pulling it apart on Saturday so that it is lighter to get out the back of the Stagea!

The elusive L14 rods aye.
Can you explain to me why they are so valuable?

They are longer, giving a better rod to stroke ratio, which gives improved torque through reduces rod anglarity.

did the rocker cover say NISSAN OHC or DATSUN OHC? mine says DATSUN OHC im sure its more valuable so best to double check befroe you dump it

Sorry I don't remember what it said. Motor already stripped and I have dumped what I didn't need so I can't check.
