The great Labour weekend Akoroa cruise. (SUNDAY Oct 26th 08)

Post by Bartman »

I suppose I'd better post this up.
Meet at target car park Blenhiem rd at 9:30am.
Depart.........Once everyone arrives/when we decide it's time to go.
Refueling at BP halswell rd. (for those too disorganised to fill up in advance)
Stop to regroup at little river, then up to the hilltop pub for a beer. Then it's off to akoroa, to buy lunch. (For those who are too lazy to bring it lol) Lunch will then be eaten by the skate ramp. (same place as last year) CHRIS will be bringing a BBQ so that those who wish to can bring meat to cook for lunch. Then back to the hilltop, via the eastern bays rd. judging for "most improved datto" will take place throughout the day. Last years winner (Damon) will be the man to make the final decision. Awarding of the trophy will take place at the hilltop on the way back.
I'd recomend bringing a folding chair to sit it, as well as any stuff for the BBQ.

Yes, this is traditionally the big one. (Excluding the SFoS) Start telling anyone who will listen. I'm hopefull that we can top the national record of 13 cars. one of our northern friends has high hopes for a big turnout at taupo, so It's only natural to want to top their effort. lol

Thats too bad. It's still a wee way off though. Circumstances may change between now and then. (Hopefully the old forum will be back online)

If people are interested, Maybe we could do like a gold coin donation and a have a bottle of bourbon, or a voucher or something as a prize.

For anyone who hasnt attended this event, its definately worth the effort to make an appearance. Last year there were 31 people present from as far as timaru (maybe even further) its always a good day and we could finish off with a bbq tea at the datsun garage if enough people are interested.
