Re: The datsun garage
give him back the 1600 and tell him you shortened the engine and added 2 doors
Re: The datsun garage
good idea
Re: The datsun garage
well the z in the shed is coming along, there was a bit of rust in the drivers door which I cut out.
AND THEN THERE WAS THE PASSENGER DOOR, we actually looked for another door its that bad, it was trowled in bog from the bottom of the door to the centre, most of the bottom swage is artistically fashioned from newtech, and is 7-10 mm thick in most places, all the bog was hiding nasty rust, but after plenty of sweet and hard yakka and a few hours of metal shapenig, its looking a little better.
marking out the cut line
with skin removed I was able to finish the inner frame repairs
bottom folded, and ready for some shape from the english wheel
.
after a couple of dozen or more very light passes, it crowned beutifully, and fits perfect
trimmed the edges and hammer and dollyed the lip over, then put it on the car to check for fit, fits nice so tomorrow ill finish welding the new skin to the original, then its undercoat and paint
