Re: maldat
I NEVER SAID THE C110 WAS MINT....it looked nice...drove nice..
you saw the rust bubbles in the roof when you brought it..
as for fresh paint Dont think so it was over a year old hence some bubbles..RUST
Since you have striped it good on ya.. you would know thier was loads of bog init just like most Datsuns..Had shit loads before I started on it..I only did a respray due to removing the rag roof...and a genarl tidy up..$400 CAR WITH $600 WORTH OF PAINT..
Have you found all the holes that are in the shell from the chrome trims I removed and threw away?..they are along both back guards and along the doors..
How about putting up some pic's of the car the day you brought it..rust was showing I wasnt hidding anything..
If you dont want to put up same day you brought the car I will ..(but this account will probley be banned before I get a chance..
I never pulled the back of it out..But I did grind out the cracked bog and put new bog in...AS FOR FOAM FILLER can you remember everycar you have worked on 7 years ago?...when you fixed 20+ cars a week?
As for that guy in postings above ... about the 160J gearbox...Why would you throw it threw my window arnt you man enough to come around?..Why dont you fit it and shut ya trap. Then you will know its fine..but like I said drain it and use fresh oil as its been sitting for over 10 years.I have driven the car it came from and it was fine...rather than post dribble..
anyway this forum is a bunch of women that moan about everything..read some of the posts about me..it started off being quite funny
I've had enough of the back stabing and lies and people moaning to TM about my auctions..gee some of you people even ring up people on auctions I'm bidding on and tell the sellers O Maldats such a bad untrusting person..
TODAY IS THE DAY..

Re: maldat
we dont ban peoples accounts on here for petty reasons like that malcom.
have you ever stopped to think......maybe its not that the 90% of Datsun owners that dont like you have issues......but in fact its you that has the issues.....serious ones quite obviously.
I heard (not confirmed) that you got in trouble with the law over something about burning out your sons car!
hmmm......issues?

Re: maldat
Malcolm,
I have a shit memory too, the only reason in fact that I can recall what you said in regards to the car when I bought it from you is because I still have all the correspondence.
All I was doing here was trying to clear up in peoples minds the reality of the car I bought from you. it wasn't until recently since I started to strip it back to bare metal that I realised just how bad it was. Of course it's going to bug me, if I wasn't interested in keeping the car in the first place I wouldn't have bought it from you back in '03.
Like I replied to your son, I couldn't give a fuck what the price of the car was, though if it was more it's possible that I would have been a little bit more than annoyed. If you had of said exactly what you'd done, it's quite likely I would have still bought the car and at least then known and been able to tackle the problems a whole lot sooner than now where things are a lot more dire.
I guess that at the end of the day, you were selling a car and you just neglected to let on the extent of the repairs. It happens all the time, we all know it. It's just a little more frustrating for me in that I thought we'd gotten on quite well to this point and so I feel a little bit more betrayed than maybe I should have.
My net at home is fucking shocking but I've saved the emails and the photos you sent me pre and post pickup onto memory card and I shall post the appropriate information when I get to work later this evening.
I mean, even if you didn't perform a load of the bodge work in the car you were at the very leaast aware of it having taken the majority of the exterior of the car back to bare metal. Right? You could have let on to me that "under this point there was a lot of bog" etc.
Still, it's done now right, we are where we are and all I've been doing is fixing the car and a consequence of that is that people have seen the quality of the workmanship that was evident.
I mean the bootlid for fucks sake, you never told me it was fucked and THAT'S why you put the SLR5000 spoiler on it. Though you happily explained that on the trademe Message Boards. I don't know man, I'm just bummed about the condition of my favourite car.
Still, it should be sorted before the end of the year and by then I'll just be able to laugh about it all over a cup of coffee or some such.

it does have a we bit of rust because it had a vinayl roof (I removed
it),,,I could not get a hold of a sand blaster at the time so after 4 years
it has bubbled back a wee bit ,but It will not stop it getting a wof.
as for chassis and sill rust its rust free,,most are rusted out.I've seen
and had a few of these.
...
Reason Nissan did the paper work on it was because it is a GTR body,it has
the factory steel rear firewall behind the rear seat, not open like a 240K.
did you know a 240KGT/GL is higher spec than a GTR anyway,GTR has 180Kph
speedo ,,240K has a 240Kph speedo.
other differences are GTR has twin cam engine ,,this is stock SOHC L24,,and
the GTR has rear disk brakes,,,Thats about the only difference,,apart from
cutting the rear guards
...
I also have the GTR miroors that go on the front guards, metal ones not
plastic.Plus the car has the GTR badges on it,and they arnt china
copy's,they cost me $150 each.
do you want some more pic's?.
the outside of the car I painted a few years ago, under the hood and door
shuts and inside the boot is stock paint, needs to be done, but not rusty,,,I
planed to repaint the engine bay when I pulled the engine out and was going
to go L28 5 speed with triples.

Yeah, I'll take any more pics you can give me, Unfortunately my current car
that I'm trying to sell is only a VK commodore so it isn't going to command
a very high price, so I'd only be able to afford to get the c110 w/ the
3piece alloys. Although If I could I wouldn't mind grabbing the GTR front
fender mirrors.
But yes, I'll take as many pics as you can give me.

It had a wof when I parked it up if I was to put a new wof on it ,I would
have to get it going or trailer it in and get done,I dont have time for
that,if I trailer it anywhere it will be into the musem..
I know a we bit of law and If I said its fine and it ant I'm lieable for the
repairs or your money back..
I know the rear supssion bushes are shagged but not a wof item.
I flat towed the car home a few weeks ago and the brakes etc where fine as
they were last time I drove it.
The little rust bubbles under the paint along the top of the back guards
should be fine as they arnt thru the paint just under it,,have a good look
at the pic's I sent you ,,,nothing major but I'd fix it before a wof for
sure,,just so they carnt say anything.
The car has NO chassis rust that I know off in the floor pan or sills or
bottom of front/rear guards.
The guy I got it off years ago had the car stored for about 7 years,I've had
it stored for three,,hence the low Km's 88,000Km;s is factory mileage not
wound back.thats 10 years of being parked up 0Km's.
Malcolm
...
Further conversation is just talk of the various parts that I could have bought with the car.
My brother and I drove up to CHC with a salvage trailer to pick it up. We looked over it and were shown all the bits that were in the photos, no mention was made of the holes in the roof-line above the screen, under the chrome trim that had been filled with silicone and filler. You obviously had that off when you removed the vinyl roof. You specifically said in one of the emails that there was no filler in the bottom on the front and rear guards. Obviously I've since discovered that was a tall tale.
Being my brother was there and he was the one paying for it (I was to pay him back in full and give him the wheels from it as part of the deal) he distinctly remembers the parts which you said were fine and those that had problems. So it's not my recollection that's just perhaps a little fuzzy or rose-tinted.
As for this from your previous post;
It is what it is.

Of course I've found those. I actually stripped the whole exterior of the car right back. Not just some of it. Re: maldat
Malcolm,
Those were all the pictures I got before I came up to get the car. All the attachments saved directly from the emails. If there was more photos, then I didn't get them.
The only ones that try and show the roof are these three (taken from my above post);
That's all I got to see before coming up to get it. Which was only what, 2 or 3 weeks from when we started talking. Likely it was my eagerness to get the car that put me in a vulnerable position but such is life. Like I've said previous, it just would have been nice to know the true state of affairs underneath the paint.
I agree with you, it is a shame that I couldn't afford the rest of the gear, such is the life of the unemployed though. In a strange twist, however, I believe my brother ended up with the triples that I had hoped to buy from you anyway. He bought them off the person that bought them from you, a few years later. As well as the headers, I believe. They needed a bit of tweaking to run but they'd been sitting forever so that's to be expected. They go well!
You'll recall though, I did buy the pedal setup from you 3months after getting the car. I've also bought a myriad of other miscellaneous items from you over the years.
Anyway, all the info is here for people to see what is what, they'll interpret it however they see fit, me personally, I know there were serious issues on the car that you were aware existed just neglected to pass on the details and now that I've found them, they're quite well engaged.
