Silvia Coilovers (any condition)

Post by Mikewazowski »

Hey I'm looking at having a go at making up some coilovers for the 180B so if anyone has some knackered S14 (or maybe S13 or S15) coilovers they would be willing to part with I could be interested. I guess I only need the rear ones but if you have the fronts I'll probably take them as well to use the camber plates.

I'm not sure, possibly? Although the springs are one of the parts I need. Doesn't really matter if the shock part is leaky or whatever since I won't be using it. I'd need to know if they are 51 mm diameter strut tubes.

S13 are much shorter than the S14 and S15 rear shocks much more suitable for a 180B, S13 are the same as R31 shocks etc. (Well what counts anyway length bolt sizes etc)

Not sure I quite followed that  I must be tired today.

When you say S15 rear shocks are more suitable for 180B do you mean using S15 rear coilovers in the rear of the 610 or using just the standard S15 rear shock in the rear of the 610? Or something else entirely?

I heard that I could use the S14 rear coilover threaded tube, adjustable platform, spring, etc on the R31 struts I have in the front as the S14 rears are 51 mm diameter (the same diameter as my front strut tubes)?

oops my mistake. I new what i meant in my head.
S14 and S15 shocks are longer and won't really be suitable for a 180B (by longer i mean prob an extra 150mm atleast)
S13 or R31 or something like that is more what you will be looking for.
Something else to consider is Subaru leone shocks as they are single point upper mounting and would be easy to convert to coil overs.
