PERTRONIX IGNITION - IN A SERRIES INSTALLED AN NOT WORKING

hey yea gota pertonix electronic points kit of ebay. followed the instrustions as much as i could an tryed to understand an the diagram.. it says to take the points an condenser out or leave them in for back up but only way i could install it was to remove the points put it in its place an take the condenser out for the wires to fit thru the dizzy. red wire goes to the + of the ballest resistor an the black wire to the - of the coil.. but its not going broom.. all its doing is winding over.. so hopefully someone out their has installed this unit into their A serries.. i took both of the wires out the points im wondering if thats causing it? but either way im stumpd

before the rain set in, the weather down here has been more consistent than HB, the temps are not as high, but the first three weeks here were fantastic sunshine.
if the rain stops, thats about as clearer day as youll get now haha!!

someone will be able to awnser this.. that little white or yellow wire that goes onto the back of the dizzy where the condser sits an has a little spaid that it plugs onto.. well to get the wires thru the dizzy ya have to take that off so iv put the plastic back screw thru it to hold it on an has the spaid for the wire to sit on but dont know if that does anything now or not? iv put the earth wire back on the dizzy now coz that was one of the problems that link said.. i measured - of the battery for earth an + of the coil got 7.4V with the key on an - battery to + of ballest resistor got 11.2V dont know if that means anything or what but yea as far as i can see the wires are all hooked up but dont know whatsup with it.i got gf to turn the key an i held a screwdriver up to the lead of no.1 an theirs no spark?

ok i found a plastic cap i found that got with the kit when 1st looked at it i thought where the fks this go but googled n found a exploded diagram an it showed were that went now when turn the key got the old man to put a nail up it an hold it near the sparkplug an its firing on no1 so i had the battery on charge all nite n thought sweet get home from work tonight n be sweet to go. but no just keeps winding over like normal. wtf getting spark got fuel?

got it going.. i think the wire of the fuel pump was draining the power for it, but now its running but the factory dash rev counter isnt working? an the ign key light is stuck on?

you may have to rewire the tacho to suit the electronic ignition.
sometimes tachos only work with current flowing in the right direction, and you may have that problem now (when i first wired up a coupe tacho to my 1200 ute, i had the wires round the wrong way and the tacho didnt read at all, was an easy fix)

ignition key light, do you mean the charge light?

yea i mean the charge light. an i wouldnt have a clue where the wires go for the tacho gauge?lol
