Sorry -
Here are a couple of pics
Basically he bought the car of a boat with a 5afe about 7 years ago. Had quite a bit of work done to it. He got a turbo setup done which a lot of people thought was a waste of time being a 5afe, but worked out really well - very very tourquey.
He swapped the car a few years later and regreted it since. I spotted it on Trademe for cheap a while back and encouraged him to buy it back (which he did after a couple of beers). It was really badly thrashed - just unbelievable stuff like the waste gate wasn't even bolted on. Front shock was totally bent. Low compression on cylinders from running really hot plugs and thrashing it.
I gave him my 7afe that I was going to use for my wagon (he gave me the reg cook heads), it is all in and running now and goes really well. Good little street car

Cool project man, I've definitely seen this around before.
Don't know how you drive shaft situation was but, but we always found Drive Inn out west to be the go.
Get the two yokes that you want, and a shaft that's long enough and wide enough to take the two yokes.
Measure from end of output shaft on gearbox, to diff pinion face.
Supply and ask for chop chop and weld, balance. Easy
$300 sounds in the ballpark for them supplying new tube, as at 2004/5.

Reason for having a BOV and external wastegate on a supercharged motor?
Think you'd better read up how a supercharger works and what a BOV and External Wastegate does

BOV is good if you don't want to have any of that supercharger "back off the gas but still accelerate" nonsense...
w/gate I dunno..

BOV wont do anything either

Re: Jeremy's 1965 Datsun Bluebird 410
depends on where you position your throttle body. IMO, it needs to be put on the intake of the supercharger. If it's after the supercharger, you need a WOT switch to trigger the blower clutch, otherwise you get 1.2 or 1.4 (depending on S/C12 or S/C14) litres or air per RPM(!) passing through the BOV. Matt's supercharged CA18det has the aforementioned, and if he lets the engine over-run with the blower driving the BOV makes an insanely loud and annoying howl like 300 duck callers being hooted into a megaphone.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

WHHHooooSSSHhh.....
I dont see the point of running a BOV on a S/C.
IE the S/C is run by belt, which generates the boost.
Kill the revs then you kill the Boost.
And even less point when running the 6 or so psi boost that a standard SC14 S/C creates (using standard drive pulleys)

the only reason i see to running a BOV on a turbo car is to reduce compressor surge, improving life of the turbo, and slightly increasing throttle response. is compressor surge a problem with a S/C engine?
