Some of you may have heard me mention that I'd read in the newspaper that the Akaroa french fest was now going to be a biannual event. And that next years fest (2011) was going to be held in late oct. This had alarm bells going off in my head, as thats around the time we hold our cruise. And you can be sure the council would give them preference over us for use of the domain.
So I did a bit of searching and found that the french fest is shceduled for the weekend after Labour day. So providing there is no idiocy this year, (and there WONT be any
) we'll be able to use the domain next year too. I think those of us who have been on the majority of past Akaroa meets will agree that being able to park on the reserve last year added an entirely new diamention awesomeness to the afternoon. And with the meet growing larger and larger every year, the car park is getting too small for our group.
