Some Photos of the panel rust repairs that were carried out;

The 2 skins that were cut out and repaired. Some lazy bastered had just welded a patch over the rust without cutting any out!!!

Redundant holes in the engine bay filled

Re: 69 510 Ground Up Rebuild
After all the rust repairs had been carried out it went back for the final treatment in the process...........Rust KILL!!!
Kills any rust still left in or on the body, in sills etc.
While there they then drown any and all cavaties with etch primer (approx 4 litres).

In between the seams and everything.

Then when the shell was back in Hamilton the outer panels were DA'd back to shining steel before Epoxy priming (all for the warranty on the paint work).

Good work Greg!
That etching all the cavites will give unparralled piece of mind for years to come. Did they use a single or multi pack etch?

Holly spa-jesus. I love seeing work like this and taking it back to bare metal just floats my boat.
My cousin brought the bare steel 180b coupe from trademe and is driving it from the south island to gisborne in the next 2 weeks. Has had a coat of pa10 he said.

Thanks Bart.
Part of my philosophy (thats a big word for a Monday night) for the build is to make it strong and durable.............cause i'm f@&ked if i'm spending this amount of money on something that won't last.
I don't really know for sure about the etch, but im thinking that it was just single pack.
