1200 ute steering arms have the larger holes right from the get go mate. It's also possible that very early b310s also used the same steering arm bolt spacing as the 1200's/120y's. (My steering arms came off an RHL b310, but god only knows what it's history was)

I have a set of 310 arms here, but as per the photo below there are a few differences (310 on the left, 110 on the right)
The 310 has the strut bolts @ 80mm crs and has Ø12mm holes, where as the 110 has Ø10mm holes @ 75 crs.
The 310's look a lot beefier, and have a raised lip/spigot that may or may not fit inside the bottom of the 110 tubes, and would be the preferred way to go (perhaps I should reshape, and slot the holes slightly, given the spigot should hopefully locate the arm concentric within the strut anyway?

I also test fitted the chin spoiler tonight to see what it looks like, and I am happy enough:

You're better off with the 1200 profile steering arm, as a 310 arm will change the ackerman. The steering arms on my car have the 1200 profile/bolt spacings, but they were on a B310. (Plus they had the larger lower ball joint taper too)

Aaron its a VW Rabbit/Golf Mk1 chin spoiler.2 piece ABS plastic.
Got it off ebay, should have brought a few in, as the freight was as much as the purchase price!

Update:

Sussing out the rid height at the back to compliment the front:

Reg Cook A15 in the hole...
This is the motor out of the 120Y club car I brought - which I might have sold as a roller to further progress the coupe.... it needs a set of rings, but I will do that during the paint/panel stage when its out of the car. I want to spend the next month or two wiring the motor and ECU, and setting up the EFI fuel system and hopefully get everything connected up, so can push forward with the panel work before Xmas.
