Sooo here is the deal. I go in for surgery next Monday as a slot opened up. A replacement ACL where they take some muscle from my quad and splay open my knee and sow it in.

This means no working on the Datsun for me for at least a month, en some tender work but can't do anything while off my feet.

Long story short, may not get car ready in time for akaroa. Really guts me. However, I will try to get it done in time. If car is not ready in time I am going to rent a 350z and come on the cruise anyway lol.

At this stage we are looking at heading down Thursday night and getting back on Tuesday if Alessandra can get time off work. That means we will need somewhere to stay Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
Worst case scenario she can't get time off and we have to drive down Friday night and get back on Monday.

Im hearing ya dude. I drove the mrs 4 spd cherry to hamner for datsun cruise and nicks 120y wagon 4spd back and i hate them!

Agreed.... We drove Dans car up to Rotorua for his sis wedding non stop with the 4 speed screaming the whole time arrrggg no more long trips till he gets a 5 speed or i might have to fly up and leave the driving to him

But as for Akaroa wouldnt miss it..... the J Might tho will have to see with only two weeks between getting back from holiday and the cruise it may be a photo finish.

just a side note, if any of the people coming from out of town need a place to keep there car for whatever reason, there is plenty of room by my place. it will be safe, as its back off the street and behind a locked gate
