R30/C31 Rear coilovers??
I am trying to find what i can use in the rear of my 83 C31 Laurel which is said to be the same chassis as the R30 Skyline. I am struggling to find much on what sort of coilovers people use in the rear of these things since they have a 3 bolt top hat which is not really a issue as that can be modified to a 2 bolt top hat if need be. It is more the overall length of them since they are quite long, kind of like S14 Silvia ones possibly? Just trying to find if anyone on here knows what other people have used? Thanks in advance

Re: R30/C31 Rear coilovers??
i doubt anything from a silvia will work, being IRS an all. you could maybe look for coilovers made for an R31 with a live axle. failing that, either buy a coil over sleeve kit and have some made up or get a new/second set for another nissan and cut and modify to suit your requirements

Hmmmmm I may have to hit up a suspension place with some measurements and see if the can match it up to anything
. Other than that and wiring she is pretty much ready to run.

Is your Car IRS or Live Axel
If its IRS look into S13 Shocks they appear to be the same length as R31 stuff with same size mounting eyes etc.
I have some factory S13 and R31 shocks lying round i could measure for you if you like,

dirtyleppa you are putting a RB30 in yours aye? Or have you decided on something else? As for pictures i am pretty slack when it comes to getting the camera out haha, when i get it back on the ground (fingers crossed in the next couple weeks) I will take a few snaps.
unlimitedpower mine is a live rear end since it was a factory diesel model, which kind of sucks but i have grown to deal with it
.
I have a R31 live rear which has disc brakes instead of my dirty diesel drums which i will be fitting once it is all up and running. It all measures up the same as my C31 rear end including having the same mounting positions. That would be cool if you could measure up the s13 struts you have but i am thinking they are going to be to short, could be worth a shot though.
Cheers guys.

Re: R30/C31 Rear coilovers??
it may be a good thing having shorter struts. will help with lowering it with out worrying about uncaptive springs etc.
as for engines in mine, ive changed about 4 times, but im so depressed about not driving it i have just bought a standard engine. that way its easy to get re-vinned and i can just enjoy it. ill probably do something alot more involved with my next project. ive got so many ideas floating round in my head
