I'm not 100% sure you can get them here as most of the info I've found is from the States but I'm looking for a C series gearbox that is shorter than the usual RB ones. I'd really like to borrow one first to see if it fits but if I can find one cheap enough I'll buy it straight away. It looks like they came out in late S12 Silvias and probably other cars around that era?
The C series boxes have the bolt on plate around where the shifter goes in, this is what I'm after (like the box on the left in the picture below), the B series boxes have the shifter held in with a clevis pin type arrangement.

arnt the vl commadore box,s short, just have to change the bell housing?

I think they come out in L20D (diesel) Laurels and skylines last of the R31 shape etc.
Ive seen a box in NZ before so know they exist but they are hard to find.
