I will be in contact with you Bartman, I might get whoever did yours to do mine since they know exactly what needs to happen.Bartman wrote:if you need adapter bushes to make the short LSD center fit the long LSD crownwheel bolts sing out. I can hook you up.
How did you sort out the Axle stubs thaty slide into the diff? I have read that new grooves needs to me machined as in the short nose the fat spacer is on the opposite side to the Long nose.
I have the stubs that came with it ( 5 bolt style ) from the Z32 NA 300zx

at present my cars arent anything special to behold, but i will be there for sure.
as far as vg30 510's go, look at torqued's thread. he bought a 510 with a vg30 in it, and he has done a fair amount of work after buying it. definitely worth a read.

I turn them up myself. They're not diffiuclt to make, but it does take a little bit of time. I just need to know if your shortnose has 12mm or 13mm crownwheel bolts. There were some longnose R200's which had the larger 12mm crownwheel bolts, but I couldn't tell you what they're out of. I have a suspition that they also had 10mm bolts holding the rear cover on. (vs 8mm) I did once make some bushed for a guy on OZdat to fit a later model back cover onto a longnose housing.85_Z31 wrote: I will be in contact with you Bartman, I might get whoever did yours to do mine since they know exactly what needs to happen.

As for the other bit, I'm not quite sure what you mean.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Re: James 85 Z31 300zx - Oficially Running well & Tuned
Got some little problems sorted out today
*New Antifreeze
*Tune adjusted slightly
*Exhaust Gas Temp in the turbo is stable at a maximum of 800 deg
(900degd is a good safe limit and 1000deg is where shit starts to go melt and go bad )
*tightened a few hose clamps here and there & sorted out a Power Steering leak
*Made an emergency kit consisting of
Chassis Stands
1L spare oil
2L spare water
Cable Ties & Insulation Tape
Rags
Bonnet Stay
Tool tray with Spanners / Sockets / Screwdrivers
Because my Z comes with a "pump up" space saver & I have strapped a full spare into the boot it means i have a nice wee cubby box the size of a tire where i can fit a heap of tools and stuff
Now Ive been for 3 more drives today & hells bells she moves So now Ive driven it I am really Amp'd about Akaroa
No burn outs yet to report, don't want to ruin a brand new clutch that's not bedded in yet.
Ging I would be keen to come round one night and say Giday and also see your car, i know you want a ride in mine but a ride on Akaroa weekend is unlikely as my Fiance is going to be with me.

Re: James 85 Z31 300zx - Oficially Running well & Tuned
Front wheel Alignment Results Were Interesting
Castor is perfectly within spec
LHS camber -1.5
RHS camber -0.3
the guy said its quite normal for it to be a bit out on an old car or something, but im thinkig that perhaps one of ther bushings is collapsed causing a dud reading.
Or even the control arm could be the wrong length ( from a diffierent year car )
again not a biggie as it still drives and handles fine but its something to add to the list
