:( :( :( :(

:violin: :violin: :violin:

Tragedy has struck, I think I have rooted my new motor..............

Lost #4 piston, & compression well down, and making bad noise running on 3, looking like I have killed it due to running poor mixture or too much advance........

I am having a BBQ and beer or three now, then will have a look at the rocker gear after, and hope that maybe it is a valve or something instead....

All this time, money and hard work, to get ready for Akaroa and looks like I am now fucked, the car is looking mint, and 'was' going mint too...

I'd almost borrow money and bet that your motor was running performance springs CB4A02's. They were all the rage for A series dattos a few years back, but they are reknown for braking after a time.Kelfords don't even stock them anymore.
They don't call me the man with the rubber arm for nothing you know.............

Just got home from helping Shauny out on the C110 Sedan. All finished and done a few test runs. Then he raised it up a few mm coz the exhaust was only 20mm off the ground.
See ya'll In the morning!!

I got the car back together last night. only to bend 7 pushrods....... upon investigation this was due to me running 2 x 1mm shims under my valve springs, I should have biffed these when I changed to standard valve springs, cause as it turns out, the springs have about 2-3 more revolutions than the 'hot' springs, meaning the springs bound and did not have enough travel to accomodate the full lift of the cam lobe........ :deadhorse:

Gave up at near midnight as I have to wait to repco to open to go get a new head set.

I might still make it (all be it late) to Akaroa

At least I am getting pretty fast at fitting up a head etc, after all my recent experience!

Fingers crossed................... I will be having a  with you guys later today.....
