hi mate - check out http://www.maddat.com.au/engine-fitting-kits.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

By the time you've messed around fabricating you may as well have bought one of their kits and chucked it all in - much easier!

Failing that since you are in the datsun city, there may be members on this site who can help you. I know blokes here have done motor conversions for people before. And "Datsunboy" is quite handy with CA18de/det wiring looms too.

My Ca18de cross member cost a whole lot less than the $600 dollars or so for the maddat kit - is really easy to make your own.
You will need gearbox tunnel mods so id look at chris' thread on his 1200

Thanks for the hints and tips. I have seen the mad dat conversion and was tempted. I have put fj20et into r30 coupe and made all the engine mounts wired it ect for that and was allot of mucking around just thort if sombody had done it i could copy there engine mounts for the datsun and save working out all he angles ect. I will be able to wire it just need a wiring diagram. Took my r30 on the datusn cruise and seeing all the datsuns going make me want to hurry up and get mine going lol.

I got a modified sr20 1200 cross member here doing nothing. YOu can try it, but i'd think it'd mount the ca too far back but it yours if you want it (I made a new crossmember, the welds are pretty ordinary on it)

As I am no longer going down the CA road, I have a Wal made cross member and a Chris made CA cut out sump to suit the cross member. Can be yours for what it cost me. Talk to either of those guys for any info you need on what has been done to them.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.
