Re: Datsuns in SilverFern
There is a matching pair of those 1600's, ex oz, one of the guys drove the tits off his one easily as fast as the majority of the BDA escorts. The other guy was pretty slow
There was also a 240z rally car none up in similar livery with a white bonnet
a stanza fj20
910 z18et
I think that was it this year. No 1200's

Re: Datsuns in SilverFern
The guy in the 240Z has done a number of events including the East African Safari so must have a fair bit of experience. He is in the Challenge part of the event so it either doesn't comply with the Historic specifications or they haven't bothered to register the vehicle as complying. The historic compliance is very strict as to only period modifications.
Shane Murland who is leading in the BDA is a good friend of mine, he also has a Sunny rally car (even though it now has a T@y!ta motor!).

Me Nick & Bede watched stage 1 & 2 in the freezing cold on Sunday morning.
The Dimension1 510 is one crazy car. Easliy the fastest at the hairpin we were at.
Was good to see soo many classics!

What happens to A Fiat after a 400m drop off the on the Banks Peninsula Stage. They where very very lucky to come out with only the injures they did.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.
