Just got a txt from the Datsun Garage
repair Cert man has been in, and given the coupe the big tick!
so, I'm gonna pick it up today after work, and organise for it to go in for compliance

Its been thru once before (before I bought it) and failed on a couple things, but I fixed them now, so should go straight thru ....hopefully lol
so maybe legal by next week for the first time in NZ!

PASSED compliance today

went thru yesterday with stripped interior, and last night I had to reassemble the interior and fix a couple things that came up.

It needed new rear tyres, better front seatbelt, and the indicator on the dash to work.
Easy as

So now I found out, that FIRST rego is gonna cost $249 for 6 months worth!!!
Damn rip off cunts.
so will have to wait till next payday to buy some rego, but as of today, it has a WOF

BIG thanks to Mark for helping me out with the compliance process (helped me get car there and back, and hooked me up a real good deal on the compliance itself).

Today I took my little (very important) bit of paper in to the VTNZ, and parted with a wad of cash
but in return they gave me REGO for 6 months! so as of today, my coupe is fully legal!
keen as to get on the Akaroa cruise for its second time! (but legal this time lol)

took the car for its first proper drive today, went up the hill, along the top, back down into heathcote, up columbo lol...then home.
had no problems, ran perfect temp the whole way
shocks are a bit dodgy, so will be taking it easy on the cruise.....will be the first akaroa cruise that I havent been up with the front of the pack lol.
and the carbs need a tune up, it runs mostly fine, but a bit rich, and has a little stumble.

I need some old skool lap seat belts.....anyone got some????
